When Faith Feels Small
"Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." — Matthew 17:20 (NIV)
Have you ever felt like your faith wasn't strong enough? Maybe you're facing a situation that seems impossible—a mountain so big you can't imagine it ever moving.
You look at your faith and think, "It's too small. It's not enough."But Jesus gives us incredible hope in this verse. He doesn't say we need giant faith.
He says faith the size of a mustard seed—one of the tiniest seeds in the world—is enough to move mountains!
🏔️Think about that for a moment. God isn't measuring the size of your faith—He's measuring the size of your God. Even the smallest faith, when placed in an all-powerful God, becomes mighty.
It's not about how much faith you have; it's about Who your faith is in.
When the disciples couldn't heal a boy possessed by a demon, they asked Jesus why they had failed. His answer wasn't, "You didn't have enough faith." Instead, He showed them that even the tiniest faith, when genuine, has unlimited potential in God's hands. Here's what small faith can do:
- It activates God's power – You don't need perfect faith, just real faith. Even a little faith releases God's big power.
- It grows as we use it – Like a muscle, faith strengthens when exercised. Every time you trust God, your faith expands.
- It pleases God – Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it's impossible to please God. He delights in our trust, no matter how small it seems.
Today, don't despise your small faith. Don't wait until you "feel more faith" to bring your requests to God. Bring Him your tiny faith, your doubts, your fears, and your questions.
He can take your small faith and do big things!
Pray: Lord, sometimes my faith feels so small. But I thank You that You don't measure my faith the way I do. Take my little faith and use it for Your glory. Help me trust You more each day, knowing that even small faith in a big God can move mountains. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏🏻
