The Unseen Footprints
Your desert season is not abandonment—it is divine carriage. When you can’t see His footprints, trust His presence.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." — Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
There are seasons when life feels like a desert—dry, lonely, directionless. We look back and see only our own footprints, and we wonder, “Where was God when I was walking through that pain?”
But just like the famous poem “Footprints,” the truth is: the one set of prints belonged to Him carrying you.
Isaiah 43:2 is not a promise of escape from hardship, but of escort through it. Waters will rise, rivers will roar, fires will blaze—yet God walks in the flood and through the flame beside you.
Three ways to recognize His unseen footprints:
- Look for the places you should have sunk—but didn’t.
Survival is often evidence of being carried. - Listen for the gentle whisper in the wind.
Sometimes God speaks loudest in the silence after the storm. - Remember the detours that became deliverance.
What felt like wandering was often guidance in disguise.
Your desert season is not abandonment—it is divine carriage. When you can’t see His footprints, trust His presence.
