The Second-Wind Spirit

Stop pressing harder—start looking higher. Your second wind is already on its way.

The Second-Wind Spirit
"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." — Isaiah 40:30-31 (NIV)

"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." — Isaiah 40:30-31 (NIV)

Runners call it the wall—that sudden, soul-crushing exhaustion at mile 20.
Believers have a version too: ministries plateau, marriages lose momentum, dreams feel oxygen-starved. Isaiah offers a different term: the second wind of God. It doesn’t come from extra training or louder pep-talks; it comes from one source—hoping in the LORD.

Three truths about God’s second wind:

  1. It arrives at the point of surrender.
When human stamina ends, divine supply begins. Admitting “I can’t” is the cue for the Spirit to whisper, “Watch Me.”
  2. It lifts higher than it found you.
God’s renewal doesn’t just restore; it elevates. Tired runners walk; renewed runners soar.
  3. It lasts longer than the race.
The same wind that carries you over today’s wall becomes tomorrow’s default altitude.

Stop pressing harder—start looking higher. Your second wind is already on its way.

Pray:
Lord of limitless energy, I hit the wall. Breathe Your Spirit into these tired lungs, lift me above exhaustion, and keep me soaring long after the finish line. Amen. 🏃‍♂️💨

Believe:
Believe that surrender invites supernatural stamina.

Receive:
Receive the wind that never tires and the wings that never fold.

Pray. Believe. Receive.
Where human limits meet divine lift.
