The Quiet After the Loud
Silence is not empty; it is full of God. The quieter you become, the louder His peace becomes.

"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
We live in a world that mistakes volume for victory: louder opinions, brighter screens, busier schedules. Yet the most decisive moments with God often arrive in whispers, not whirlwinds. Psalm 46 was written during national upheaval—kingdoms collapsing, mountains quaking—yet the Spirit’s prescription was simple: “Be still.”
Stillness isn’t passive; it’s posture. It’s the deliberate turning down of internal noise so we can hear the One voice that truly matters. When we quiet ourselves, two things happen simultaneously:
- God becomes big.
In silence we realize He was never small; our anxieties were simply shouting over Him. - We become small enough to fit in His hand.
The same hand that cradles galaxies is now cupped around our problems.
Three habits for cultivating holy quiet:
- Micro-Sabbaths: 60-second pauses to breathe, whisper a verse, and reset your spirit.
- Screen Sabbath: one hour daily with notifications off and soul notifications on.
- Scripture Solitude: read a single verse, then sit in silence until it reads you.
Silence is not empty; it is full of God. The quieter you become, the louder His peace becomes.
Pray:
Lord of the whisper, hush my heart. Teach me the sacred art of being still until my storms hear Your voice and obey. Amen. 🔕💛
Believe:
Believe that when you are still, God is working.
Receive:
Receive the quiet that outlasts the loudest chaos.
Pray. Believe. Receive.
Where silence becomes strength.
