Seeking God First

Seeking Him first doesn’t mean neglecting responsibilities but approaching them with a God-centered perspective.

Life often feels like a juggling act, with demands pulling us in every direction. We chase after security, comfort, and happiness, only to find them slipping through our fingers. Jesus offers a different approach: seek God first, and everything else will fall into place.

Reflect on the Verse

Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:33 challenge us to reorder our priorities. When we place God at the center of our lives, we open the door for His blessings to flow into every area. Seeking Him first doesn’t mean neglecting responsibilities but approaching them with a God-centered perspective.

Practical Application

  1. Start Your Day with God
Dedicate the first moments of your morning to prayer and reading Scripture. This sets the tone for the rest of your day and keeps God at the forefront of your mind.
  2. Make Decisions with God in Mind
Before making important decisions, ask yourself, “How does this align with God’s will?” Seek His guidance and trust His plan.
  3. Cultivate a Heart of Worship
Regularly reflect on God’s goodness and faithfulness. Worship helps keep your focus on Him and reinforces your commitment to seeking Him first.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I choose to seek You first in all areas of my life. Help me to prioritize Your kingdom and righteousness above all else. I trust that You will provide for my needs as I focus on Your will. Amen.

Reflection

Take a moment to evaluate your priorities. How can you better seek God first in your daily life? What changes can you make to align your actions with your faith?

Pray. Believe. Receive.
